I would like to offer a word of welcome to everyone who visits the homepage of the International Center for Korean Studies (ICKS) of the Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies at Seoul National University (SNU).
Since its launch in November 2007, the ICKS has been supporting quite a number of Koreanists from all over the world in their research projects and various academic conferences at Kyujanggak. The ICKS offers fellowship affiliation to fellows, junior fellows, visiting scholars and visiting students, as well as grants to international researchers with short-term projects involving the Kyujanggak Archive and SNU graduate students with Korean studies projects outside Korea. By supporting various international research projects, the ICKS is broadening the horizons of Korean studies to a global dimension.
Dear Koreanists and scholars interested in Korean studies who visit Kyujanggak from all over the world, we at the ICKS hope that you will find a supportive environment here in developing new research and benefit fully from belonging to academic communities within and without SNU. We wholeheartedly welcome global scholars with diverse backgrounds and views to challenge themselves here in trailblazing new interdisciplinary research projects. We promise to support dynamic and vibrant activities aimed at the globalization of Korean studies and to endeavor to build an innovative research environment for Korean studies.
Your comments and feedback are always welcome in the spirit of productive cooperation toward the globalization of Korean studies.
